2021 Ram TRX launch control demonstration
TranscriptJEREMY KORZENIEWSKI: Hello. This is Jeremy Korzeniewski from "Autoblog." We're sitting in a Ram TRX pickup truck. We've got over 700 horsepower under hood, and that's courtesy of a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine.
We have launch control. I've already hit the button, as you can see. You just tap this button right here. That gets into Launch Control mode. And then you'll get this screen on your digital dash. It says to apply brake pressure. You're going to want to do that with your left foot, and it'll give you a readout of how much brake pressure you're giving. And you have to give it enough or else launch control won't work.
As you can see, you've got to be at a stop, in drive. That second icon is level ground. Steering wheel has got to be straight. If you move it off straight, it'll change. And you are locked into first gear to start off with.
So you hit the brake. Apply full throttle, and then drop it. And it takes off like crazy. So we're not going to do a crazy acceleration run right now. We're on a closed street. Can't do anything too crazy here. But if you find yourself on a track, that is how you will use launch control.
